Hey, Disney fans. Got an extra $299 burning a hole in your pocket? Well, you’re in luck, because Disneyland has a way for you to spend it. How about a ticket for a special “VIP preview” to the renovated Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure?
For $299, you get a special ticket that includes admission to Disney California Adventure and the newly renovated Pixar Pier, which you will see on June 22 – the night before it opens to everyone else. You’ll also get special snacks, a swag bag, a lanyard and other good stuff.
But that’s not the only buzz this news is creating in the Disneysphere. While the parks’ biggest fans open their piggy banks and decide whether they can afford to go, many are also speculating on what this big ticket price portends for next year’s opening of the much more greatly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Disneyland.

That’s been the topic burning up the internet since Disney fans first learned about the VIP party, even more so than the party itself. Todd Regan, who runs the MiceChat.com fan forum under the pen name Dusty Sage, said he wouldn’t spend $300 on Pixar Pier VIP tickets, but he could understand the pricing.
People on his MiceChat forum overwhelmingly said that the $300 price tag “was too much for a repainted area,” but he expects that the party will appeal to some.
“It’s a relatively small area and they can’t fit that many people in there, which is why I think they’re pricing it at that point,” Regan said. “This is only for the super diehard fans.”

He said that the premiere of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be a “different situation” with various levels of premieres likely to be held over a significant period of time, at different price points. He expects annual pass-holders to get the first look, as they have in the past at other openings.
No one yet knows exactly when that will be yet, and it’s at least a year away. Meanwhile, if you do decide to splurge out on the Pixar Pier preview, you can buy tickets starting today, May 16.
