Crews battle fast-moving fire in Pleasants Valley area

Fire crews from multiple counties responded to a Tuesday morning grass fire that scorched nearly 30-acres along Pleasants Valley Road in the hillside above Soul Food Farms forcing road closures and evacuations in the same area that was burned during last year’s LNU Lightning Complex Fire.

According to the fire’s Incident Commander, Cal Fire Battalion Chief, Justin Benguerel, crews from Cal Fire, Vacaville Fire Protection District, Vacaville Fire Department, Fairfield, and Suisun Fire Departments responded to the blaze around 9:30 a.m. in the 6000 block of Pleasants Valley Road and reporting of a fire with a moderate rate of spread involving grass and oak trees.

Benguerel also said that no structures were damaged or injuries were reported. He added that fire investigators would determine the origin and cause.

Vacaville Police Officers aided in the evacuation of residents of the Wykoff Drive neighborhood.
