East Oakland shooting under investigation

OAKLAND — A man was shot multiple times Tuesday morning in the Fruitvale district in East Oakland, authorities said.

He was undergoing surgery at a hospital and his condition was not immediately available.

The man was shot just after 9 a.m. near the intersection of 41st Avenue and East 15th Street, just north of International Boulevard.

Police were trying to determine a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been announced.

Streets in the area were closed while police investigated.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.

San Mateo fatal shooting under investigation SAN MATEO — A 57-year-old man is in custody after the city’s first homicide of the year after a shooting at a recreational vehicle storage lot, authorities said Sunday. Police said a person called to report shooting his neighbor in the chest. Moments later, two callers said they had heard gunfire near Fashion Island Boulevard and South Norfolk Street. Man fatally shot in East Oakland OAKLAND — An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Friday afternoon in East Oakland, authorities said. His name has not yet been released. Authorities said he was an Oakland resident but have not said if he lived in the area of the shooting.
