DUBLIN — Teachers from Murray Elementary School in Dublin will receive a belated Christmas gift from none other than TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
A total of 11 teachers and principal Meghan Boriskin were featured on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which will air Wednesday afternoon. The show was the last segment of the “12 Days of Christmas” giveaway, this year featuring frontline workers, including nurses, first responders, food bank workers and teachers. The talk show gives away gifts to thank them for their work.
But this year, on the day the show was slated to film its final segment, DeGeneres found out she tested positive for COVID-19, and production halted. It was on this segment that a dozen teachers from Murray Elementary were scheduled to be featured, said Principal Boriskin in an emailed message sent out to families Wednesday morning.
The teachers and principal were finally able to film their segment on Tuesday, which will air Wednesday on NBC at 4 p.m. Details of what they were given were not yet revealed.
“Thank you to the Ellen Show and its sponsors for recognizing front line works!” said Boriskin in her message.
