STOCKTON – A man was shot and killed outside an east Stockton minimarket and gas station Saturday night, and the suspect remains at large, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office reported.
“Multiple people were involved in this incident, but only one person was shot and killed,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in its report on the shooting that occurred about 9 p.m. at the corner of East Fremont Street and North Oro Avenue.
The victim was not named pending positive identification and notification of next of kin by the Coroner’s Office.
The fatal shooting happened outside the store at the southeast corner of the intersection. An armed man believed responsible for the homicide fled the scene after the shooting in a Chrysler 300 sedan. The sedan was a dark color with two red stripes along the sides, according to the Sheriff’s Office that cautioned the suspect should be considered “armed and dangerous.”
