Jake Heggie’s new podcast should make opera lovers swoon

Composer Jake Heggie is taking on a new role.

“Sing Louder,” his new weekly podcast, finds the creator of operas including “Dead Man Walking” and “Moby-Dick” hosting Friday conversations with five of today’s best and brightest opera stars.

Installments, each running just under 30 minutes, feature mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges (Oct. 9), tenor Brandon Jovanovich (Oct. 16), soprano Ana María Martínez (Oct. 23), and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green (Oct. 30). Recorded and edited at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Complex-SF in San Francisco, the podcast offers an insider’s view of the opera world, covering personal challenges, professional triumphs, and unforgettably unexpected moments onstage.
