Man shot in East Oakland

OAKLAND — A man was shot multiple times Friday morning in East Oakland.

His age and condition were not immediately available.

The shooting happened at about 10:25 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of 79th Avenue near Alder Street.

Police found the man outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police have not said if the shooter was in a vehicle or approached the victim on the street.  A possible suspect was seen driving away in a car.

Police don’t have a motive yet for the shooting and have not made any arrests.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
