Pizza! Curry! Tacos! Concord Comfort Food Week starts Jan. 15

If you purchase and eat gooey, fried, baked or otherwise comforting food, you might as well get rewarded for it.

That’s the idea behind Visit Concord’s Comfort Food Week, which runs for not one, but two weeks this year — Jan. 15 to Jan. 31 — and features 70 of the city’s restaurants, from Cinnaholic and Bronze Buddha Thai Fusion to The French Hen and Falafel Flame.

Now in its fourth year, the annual event is part of California Restaurant Month, which drives business to local restaurants. This year, they need it more than ever.

“Our restaurants, cafes and taquerias are an important, beloved and integral part of the Concord business community,” says Elaine Schroth, Visit Concord CEO and president. “Comfort Food Week has become an annual celebration to recognize them all. But with the business challenges of COVID-19, it’s even more important to support these amazing businesses.”

Here’s how it works: Download the free Concord Comfort Food Week Passport, which allows participants to check-in through their phones when placing a takeout or delivery order. Receive one point for each check-in. Upon earning four points, score a Visit Concord gift pack, including T-shirt, carabiner and $25 restaurant gift card (limit one per person). Related Articles
