South San Francisco: Attempted robbery under investigation

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – Authorities are investigating an attempted robbery in South San Francisco.

The incident was reported in the 500 block of Grand Avenue, near Spruce Avenue, about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, the South San Francisco Police Department said in a news release Friday.

The victim told police he was walking westbound when he was confronted by a man he did not know. The man demanded the victim’s money but left the area when he started screaming for help.

Police said the victim was not injured and nothing was taken.

The suspect was described as Latino, about 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black bandana over the lower portion of his face, a black hooded jacket, black pants and black shoes.
