OAKLAND — Two men were shot, one multiple times, within four hours Thursday a few blocks apart in East Oakland, authorities said.
Both men were in stable condition Friday.
At about 8:30 p.m. Thursday a 21-year-old man was shot multiple times from outside as he sat in his vehicle in the 5700 block of East 16th Street.
The man was able to run from the scene to a nearby residence were police were notified. The shooter fled before police arrived.
The man was taken to a hospital.
Police have not determined a motive yet for the shooting and have not made any arrests.
Earlier, at about 4:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot outside in the 1700 block of 55th Avenue.
The man was able to drive himself to a hospital. The shooter fled in a vehicle before police got to the scene.
A motive has not yet been officially determined, but police have not ruled out the possibility the shooting was gang-related, authorities said.
Police have not said if they believe the two shootings are connected.
