Multiple schools ordered to shelter in place

At least two people are dead and one more is injured after a shooting took place in West Valley City Thursday morning.

According to a tweet from the West Valley City Police Department, a shooting took place along 4100 South between the northbound and southbound lanes of the Mountain View Corridor.

Police say there are “multiple suspects” in custody.

The shooting caused several nearby schools to shelter in place, including Hunter High School, Hunter Junior High School, Hillside Elementary School and Whittier Elementary School, according to an email from the Granite School District that was sent to parents and posted on social media.
