SALT LAKE CITY — A man was rescued Saturday after his car crashed and rolled over onto an embankment above the Jordan River near 1200 W. North Temple about 6:50 p.m.
“It was on fire when I got there,” Salt Lake City Police Lt. Steve Wooldridge said of the vehicle that ended up suspended on a fence. “A water rescue crew and equipment showed up, but it wasn’t an actual water rescue because the vehicle didn’t go in the water.”
The man, rescued by a Gold Cross ambulance crew that witnessed the incident and the Salt Lake City Fire Department, has not been identified and has serious injuries, Wooldridge said. He said the front end of the vehicle was “pretty smashed up.”
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Wooldridge said.
