Musicians from the local musical group SunShade n’ Rain sing while interacting with senior citizens during an outdoor concert at Solstice Senior Living in Sandy on Saturday. Solstice at Sandy has booked as many musical groups as possible to entertain its residents and local community members who are keeping human interaction at a minimum due to the spread of COVID-19. In September alone, there are eight concerts on the schedule. “Since we started this concert series, we’ve noticed a considerable boost in our residents’ spirits and well-being,” Chris Hineman, Solstice at Sandy executive director, said in a statement. “Our residents no longer feel isolated from the rest of the local community and are benefiting from these safe social interactions. Our goal is always to offer the highest-quality atmosphere for our residents, and we will continue to maintain that goal, no matter the unprecedented circumstances before us.”
