Swimmer presumed drowned in Deer Creek Reservoir

SALT LAKE CITY — The search for a 23-year-old man presumed drowned in Deer Creek Reservoir will resume Monday.

The man was with two other swimmers on Sunday when they became in distress about 2 p.m. Sunday, according to a brief statement from Wasatch County sheriff’s search and rescue team. An “alert bystander” helped rescue two of the swimmers, according to the statement. The third person remained unaccounted for.

Crews from Utah State Parks and Recreation and the Summit County sheriff’s search and rescue team were assisting in the effort,
