GREEN RIVER, Emery County — Two people were killed in a head-on crash on U.S. 6 just outside of Green River on Friday, according to police.
The crash happened near the junction to I-70. Just before 7:30 a.m., a Ford F-150 and a Toyota Camry hit head-on, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The driver of the Camry died at the scene, while the driver of the truck later died at a local hospital, troopers said.
“Fog was moderate at the time of the crash and likely contributed to the crash. Investigators are using a drone to diagram the scene. This will help us better reconstruct what actually happened to cause this awful crash,” according to a statement from UHP.
Both directions of U.S. 6 were closed Friday morning as the crash was investigated. Names of the victims were not immediately released pending notification of family members.
