What time is the royal wedding? And other burning questions about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting married Saturday, May 19. Here’s a cheat sheet of things you might be wondering about …

The time and place

The ceremony will start at noon (7 a.m. ET) at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, with guests and members of the royal family expected to arrive after 6:20 a.m. ET. Windsor Castle is also where Princess Eugenie will marry Jack Brooksbank in October (and it’s where Henry VI is buried!).

The dress

Details about Meghan Markle’s wedding dress are being kept secret until the big day. But some internet sleuths caught Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, carrying a Burberry garment bag when she left California this week to fly to London for the wedding. Some think this means the same house that designed Meghan Markle’s dress also made something for the mother of the bride.

Her dad, Thomas Markle

Meghan Markle confirmed her dad would not be attending the wedding, citing health reasons. “I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health,” she said in a statement. Thomas Markle was supposed to walk her down the aisle. The frontrunner to replace him appears to be Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, but Bazaar prognosticates that it could also be Prince Charles, Prince William, her husband-to-be Prince Harry (who’d meet her halfway down the aisle), close friend Jessica Mulroney, or even … nobody.

The kids

The Palace has released the names of the bridesmaids and page boys, and not only are the royal niece and nephew in the party (Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3), but there’s a Canadian connection as well. Meghan Markle’s close friend Jessica Mulroney’s kids with Ben — and the grandchildren of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney — will also be in the wedding party: Ivy, 4, and John and Brian, 7.

Spice Girls

I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want: A proper Spice Girls reunion. But that’s not happening at the royal wedding. For a while, rumours swirled about the iconic girl group getting back together to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials. Then people thought they’d all be invited. Now we know only three Spice Girls made the cut (sorry Mels B. and C.)! Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham are the only ones on the guest list.
