The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, headquartered in Salt Lake City, is continuing to reopen its temples on a limited basis as local governments ease restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

By Oct. 26, the church will have 122 temples in Phase 2 of its reopening plan, which means receiving endowments for living persons and sealings of children to parents. The one temple that will transition to Phase 2 on Oct. 26 is:

Alabama Birmingham Temple

The total number of temples reopened is 149.

The first phase offers living husband-and-wife sealings with minimum staff and participants, including the bride, the groom and a limited number of healthy guests.
