It’s finally happening.
After cancellations due to COVID-19 cases wiped away the first two games of its season against Arizona and UCLA, the University of Utah will play its first football game of the season Saturday, taking on USC at 8:30 p.m. MST at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Utah has been officially cleared to play tonight, the school’s Twitter account confirmed.

USC was also cleared to play, per Jon Wilner of The Mercury News.
When the Utes kick off against No. 20 USC, it will have been 326 days since the Utes last saw the field in the Alamo Bowl. The Trojans already have two games under their belts, beating Arizona and Arizona State.
The contest between the Utes and the Trojans will be broadcast on ESPN, with Dave Flemming and Rod Gilmore on the call. Radio coverage can be heard ESPN 700, with Bill Riley and Scott Mitchell behind the mic. The game can be streamed via WatchESPN.
